Chasing the Blues Away: Microsoft Build Gets Bigger

Many people were blue about not getting registered for the Microsoft Build Conference because it quickly sold out. Many that missed the registration said the limited attendance really blew! You could say that those that missed registration got the Microsoft Build blues, not to be mixed up with Microsoft “Blue” that is expected to be presented at the conference.

Of course, the Microsoft blues might blow away for a number of people. Word on the street is that Microsoft is opening up registration to more people. Being that the Build conference is in a convention center (Mascone West in San Francisco) instead of on the Microsoft campus, there was the ability to increase the size of the show and let more people attend.

For those on the waiting list, it looks like you might just get your chance to attend! For those of you not on the waiting list, head over to the Microsoft Build Conference site. At the time of this post, word was that registration was opening again!

Microsoft Build is the conference Microsoft puts on for developers. This replaced the Professional Developer Conference (PDC) recently. In addition to getting a firsthand look at what is happening in the development space, the conference offers a great opportunity to network and interact with fellow developers as well as with many Microsoft product people. I’ve been attending PDC and Build conferences for years and with only one exception (the year of “Hailstorm”), I’ve found them to be extremely valuable to attend. Even without a posted agenda, you know that you will learn about the things Microsoft has planned for developers in the near future.

I’ll be there this year. It looks like with the increased size of the event, a lot more people will be joining me! Are you going to be there?
