SQL Server 2005 April CTP (Community Technology Preview) was officially announced today along with Visual Studio 2005 Beta 2 (see “Beta 2 of Visual Studio 2005 Released“).

This CTP release of SQL Server is considered feature complete. As such it is set to be used with Visual Studio 2005 beta 2, as well as ready to begin testing against your applications.

Like the GoLive! license for Visual Studio 2005 Beta 2, there is also the ability to put SQL Server 2005 beta databases into production using the Technology Adoption Program (TAP). You can find more information on SQL Server 2005 and the TAP program at http://www.microsoft.com/sql .
