Many developers (and end users) have wondered if Microsoft would be releasing a Windows Phone 7 tablet, and today Microsoft answered the question with a definitive denial, stating that tablets are more a type of PC, than a phone.


After pointing out the obvious, Microsoft continued by promoting the concept of a “unified ecosystem” that runs across all phones, PCs and other electronic devices such as televisions. As the president of the Windows Phone division, Andy Lees, put it, “A lot of people have asked me, are we going to produce a phone that is a tablet? Well, that is in conflict with this strategy. We view a tablet as a sort of PC.”
