Windows Intune 2.0 Pushes Microsoft Developers Further in the Clouds

This week Microsoft announced the release of the latest version of Windows Intune, its online service that is used to manage remote computers, yet another example of how cloud computing is changing the world–and Microsoft.

As Microsoft’s Eric Main put it, “Our vision for Windows Intune is big. We want to take the best of the capabilities delivered through our on-premises solutions…and enable them through the cloud. Microsoft needs to continue filling out its feature set.” Speaking about the benefits of cloud computing, Main continued, “Eventually, Windows Intune will deliver more management capabilities than the on-premises solutions but with less cost and higher productivity.”
