July 1st Microsoft plans to make its Windows Azure pricing more friendly for those users who will be migrating large amounts of data to the Azure cloud. All inbound data transfers for peak and off-peak hours will be free.

Microsoft is hoping to entice those developers who have large quantities of accumulated data they want to transition to Azure. Also affected by the pricing are Azure applications that receive data in large amounts as a routine part of the application’s processes. The company sees the cloud as the future for infrastructure, with cloud services replacing traditional forms of software.
