This week Microsoft made its App Publishing Kit and Data Publishing Kit for the Windows Azure Marketplace available for developers. The kits are billed as tools to make it easier for developers to publish both applications and data to the Azure Marketplace.

Microsoft discussed the announcement, which obviously occurred in an effort to temp more app developers to move to Windows Azure development, asking potential customers “Are you looking to publish your application or data on the Marketplace? Check out [the new Windows Azure Marketplace publishing guidance] for all the information you need including samples, documentation and to access the new Offer Submission page.”
