With the initial preview of Windows 8, Microsoft once again had a chance to be a real player in the mobile market. Windows 8, like the upcoming Android “Ice Cream Sandwich” OS, is one size fits all, meaning that it doesn’t matter if you are using a desktop computer, a tablet or a phone–the OS is the same.


There are still many questions to be asked about Windows 8, but developers are once again interested in creating Windows apps, the mobile arena is once again talking about Microsoft, and Apple is looking at Microsoft as a potential challenger, instead of a dying breed. Metro took a page from the iOS user interface, but will it be just a new wrapper on an old product, or a new paradigm?
