Microsoft ended the retail distribution of Windows 7 and someone at the software giant decided to not make any announcement to the press but instead made the decision to simply post a nice quiet and low-key notice on the back pages of their online site. The retail end of sales of the operating system was actually carried out on October 30th which means that Microsoft observes a deadline for ending sales of PCs that are preinstalled with Windows 7.
