In the past, Palm dominated the mobile arena, then along came the Blackberry. After inspiring early adopters, Microsoft came along with the PocketPC platform. Eventually Apple’s iPhone entered the market, which brought the focus to the user interface. A battle for email and communication superiority entailed, and continues today. If mobile vendors don’t stay on their game, and work towards gaining those customers that are ready to move from RIM (Blackberry) and Palm, with connectivity, reliability and fun (with gaming, video and apps), they may become the Palm Pilot of tomorrow.
