The company flagship products SURF Engine and TranSURF systems now support Silverlight to power video systems for high capacity delivery to all screens, said company officials. SURF Engine is based on DSP technology, and delivered as an extension board or an appliance. Company officials said that it powers multimedia applications developed by vendors worldwide.
Last month, the company introduced TranSURF — DSP-based, video transcoding acceleration blade offered in PCIe and AMC form factors. The company said that it has been designed to meet escalating market demand for delivering high quality video from multiple sources to multiple devices.

TranSURF not only boosts transcoding capabilities, but also provides enrichment tools for content monetization including text overlay, picture-in-picture and logo insertion. Furthermore, TranSURF was designed to integrate with the leading video servers including: Adobe Flash Media Server, HTTP-Live Server (iPhone), Microsoft Silverlight and Wowza Media Server.
To support the growing demand, system developers need to integrate platforms that will provide high-capacity transcoding, transrating and enrichment in real-time. “SURF’s work with Silverlight facilitates this need,” Fisher said.
