This week brings the release of Security Ninja’s Windows Phone App Analyser, an application that enables developers, and other interested parties, to evaluate Windows Phone 7 .xap files and automatically decompile the .dll files within them. Based on the static security analysis tool Agnitio, the Analyser provides a way for developers to enhance the security of their applications.

The Windows Phone App Analyser’s features include the ability to provide a tree view of the contents of the .xap files so they can be manually reviewed, and a one-click method of decompiling .dll files into .cs files. The author of the application has stated that the software is still “a little bit rough around the edges and lacks a few features that I think are important.”
