Scott Guthrie Talks About XAML Without Silverlight

This week, Microsoft’s Scott Guthrie discussed the future of XAML, and how it relates to Silverlight, his former darling. Guthrie left the Silverlight arena last April to focus on Windows Azure, Microsoft’s premier cloud services platform.

Guthrie spoke about the convergence of mobile and desktop applications, stating that “As a personal user, I’m looking for the ability where I can sit down in my office and use a keyboard and mouse, and be able to interact in an input-style way, which is how you’re referring to enterprise scenarios, heavy data/text input, and then be able to run to a meeting and pick up my machine and go to the meeting and engage with my computer in a more touch-centric way. I can say as a personal user, I’m really excited about that.”
