Stephen Elop whom you may remember as a former Microsoft executive officer, is rumored to be set to let several Nokia executives go. The strategy is thought to tie to Nokia’s move to partner with Microsoft to offer Windows Phone 7 devices. It’s still unclear if the talks have progressed into a decision to move forward but one source claims that Nokia is ready to drop Meego and move to Windows Phone 7 as its high-end smartphone OS.
