With Microsoft’s Windows Azure being the latest software to include support for open source applications, Microsoft continues to advance and support open source technology. Azure isn’t the only Microsoft software that will support open source apps–the company has just announced that they will be allowing developers to create open source applications for the new Windows 8 App Store.
A vast number of companies including Microsoft haven’t always agreed with the idea of support for open source applications. As technology continues to advance, over time Microsoft started to reconsider open source apps. The company began working earlier this year on the creation of an open source project hosting site. Since then Microsoft is begining to apply their open source stance to many of their future products. Developers will be able to publish their open source applications on the Windows 8 App Store.
