This week Factual.com announced the release of its Resolve API for location-based services. The Resolve API is an entity resolution API which completes partial records, matches one query against another, and works to de-duplicate and normalize location data.

By using the Resolve API, developers can tell the API know the information they already know about a location, and Resolve will add the missing information, such as a category, latitude and longitude, address, etc. Initially Resolve will only include locations in the United States, but it will eventually include global locations.
