Perceptions are everything in the media, and Microsoft is no exception. Recently, some developers have expressed concern that Microsoft seems to be leaning heavily on HTML5 and JavaScript as the defacto standard for future Windows development, and moving away from .NET. The truth is, .NET is going to be around for a long time, like it or not.
.NET is still a good choice for business application development, while it’s not as well known for being used for some consumer apps such as games. The problem for Microsoft is that the idea that .NET is a dying technology is that is people believe it, it can happen. Microsoft needs to reign in its PR firm and reassure developers that .NET is here to stay.
