As Mozilla continues to keep Firefox competitive and relative in the commercial browser world, they also must tackle the increasing burden of the all popular interactive webpage being deployed and expected to properly display on the plethora of browser options and scripting engines. Expected early 2013, FireFox will usher in an all new JIT or Just In Time JavaScript compiler architecture for FireFox’s SpiderMonkey script engine. Called IonMonkey, the JIT is now part of the nightly Firefox test builds, and is set for wide release as part of Firefox 18. Read the full story here.
