Satya Nadella, the head of Microsoft’s Indian Server and Tools division, believes that the increased use of cloud computing and cloud services will create a larger demand for servers, rather than the opposite, as many have promised. While smaller companies may rely on cloud hosting, many larger companies will simply provision more servers themselves.

Nadella says that the objective is to cloud-optimize all businesses using a combination of public and private clouds. Windows server will be used to create the private cloud, and Windows Azure will be used for the public cloud–and both clouds will be used seamlessly at once.
