The world of cloud computing has been growing rapidly for the last decade, and Microsoft has been actively proclaiming its dedication to the cloud for some time. With its Office 365 productivity suite and Windows Azure cloud app development platform, the company is in a good position to take the lead in what is still a narrow vertical market.


So how is Microsoft grooming its OS market to embrace the cloud? The Windows 8 operating system is a user interface (UI) that utilizes a cloud computing backend. The framework that Microsoft is creating with Windows 8 was built to be able to leverage the cloud, with local apps available in any language.
