This is the first time the world’s largest and most powerful software vendor has changed its overall identity. For over a quarter of a century Microsoft has used the original logo. This marks the times as increased competition from Apple, which has enjoyed a marked halo effect from sales of their tablets and smartphones – has Microsoft branching out into first-party PC sales for the first time, albeit in tablet form with its Surface products.
