In a move to enter the social networking space, Microsoft has announced that they will purchase the social networking company, Yammer inc. for an estimated $1, 200,000,000.00. That’s a lot of zero’s just to add a little incentive to potential Microsoft Office users as their plan is to integrate the social business hub with a future Office suite release. In addition to the acquisition, Microsoft will also be acquiring Yammer’s other assets such as software and file sharing related tools. No word yet if Microsoft will simply drop those developments or look to integrate those features as well. Read the full story here.
