Microsoft promising a “fast and fluidly” like experience with SkyDrive embedded in Windows 8. SkyDrive is not new to Microsoft. Its been around for awhile and claiming 17 million current users and a storage capacity of up to 10 petabytes of data, so SkyDrive has a little bit of a kick-start should the new version of this Mobile OS actually gain some traction in the mobile device market this year. And with the entire app built using the most modern web technologies available including JavaScript, CSS, and HTML5, and because of their recent updates to SkyDrive.com, the SkyDrive team was able to use the JSON APIs and JavaScript object model that the website uses. The only difference on Windows 8 is that they bind the results to modern controls that were built for touch. Microsoft is expected to launch a consumer preview of Windows 8 at the Mobile World Conference next week in Barcelona.
