Microsoft is releasing select and very interesting new design samples for Windows Apps incorporating Kinect controls in them. With Kinect coming to Windows desktop apps, this means that developers who have not yet developed or designed gestural controls are about to open a new and fascinating preverbal can of worms. Gestural controls offer a whole host of challenges and Microsoft has released a new set of guidelines, tools and how-to’s for creating Windows apps incorporating those types of controls. Microsoft also announced today that the Kinect for Windows team is about to launch a new runtime and a new SDK (Software Developer Kit) in about a month from today in support of these gestural controls.
