The offices in China issued an official statement today in regards to the new Microsoft facility reiterating the Microsoft’s announcement. The opening of the new facility indicates Microsoft’s willingness to continue investing in, and providing support to, the local open source communities in that region. The new office located in Shanghai is called “Microsoft Open Technologies Shanghai Co. Ltd.,” and is expected to be staffed with engineers and standards experts who are focused on interoperability between proprietary Microsoft products as well as open source software developed in China.
