Microsoft Open Technologies, a wholly owned subsidiary of Microsoft, just announced the launch of VM Depot. Microsoft Azure may already have a store which provides developers with the ability to deploy applications to the Azure cloud however the new VM Depot will now offer a service similar to Amazon’s Web Services, Amazon Machine Image service. MOT’s new VM Depot was built on Azure and which relies exclusively on published Azure APIs allowing developers to choose from a catalog of pre-configured operating systems, applications and deployment stacks.
