While it is not typical for Microsoft to release a major version release of their flag ship development suite just one year after their previous version, Visual Studio 2013 is the exception to the rule. But this plays into Microsoft’s commitment earlier this year to quicker release cycles. And Visual Studio 2013 has the ability to be installed in addition to previous versions of Visual Studio, or installed right on top of previous version.
