In the latest Microsoft news, Microsoft confirmed yesterday that it has slashed £50 off the price of the Xbox 360 120GB hard drive as it tries to clear stock ahead of the arrival of the 250GB SKU on April 16th. SKU Stands for “Stock Keeping Unit,” and is conveniently pronounced “skew.” A SKU is a number or string of alpha and numeric characters that uniquely identify a product. For this reason, SKUs are often called part numbers, product numbers, and product identifiers.

A standalone 250GB HDD for the Xbox 360 has been confirmed by Microsoft, despite the publisher previously saying the unit will only be available in console bundles. It will have an RRP of £79.99 when it goes on sale in the UK on April 16th. Microsoft confirmed the details after MCV brought an Amazon listing to its attention

“Microsoft has reduced the price of the Xbox 360 120GB Hard Drive to £79.99 while supplies last,” a rep told VG247 (VideoGaming247). “We are now able to offer even more storage for those who wish to store lots of games and entertainment content with the new Xbox 360 250GB Hard Drive.”

A spokesperson for Microsoft said: “The 250GB hard drive offers the player more space to store game content and full titles with games on demand. “They’ll also have more freedom to download the latest demos, Xbox Live arcade games, TV shows, movies, music and more straight to their Xbox 360 console.”

Microsoft also posted an advert on the US Xbox 360 dashboard showcasing a single 250GB HDD
