Microsoft is scheduled to attend an event on September 30th which include the unveiling of both their Developer Preview version of the new Microsoft OS, and if reports are true suggesting that the company will be renaming their flagship OS, we could see the announcement of the end of ‘Windows’. Microsoft seems determined all that was Windows, if not by radically changing the OS’s signature desktop, as with the release of the Windows 8 Metro UI, later forcibly renamed to Modern UI, thereby eliminating Windows all together. In any case, the new OS, codenamed within Microsoft as ‘Threshold”, continues to be publically named Windows 9. With any luck, we’ll find out on Wednesday if the nomenclature will remain the same, or change to something like Doors, Roof, or Shades. The possibilities are endless. Read on to find out the details.
