This years Convergence 2011 keynote brought the chief of Microsoft Dynamics, Kirill Tatarinov who boosted a demo of Microsoft’s new Kinect. Currently an interactive gaming system but with minor tweaking, an interface to the AX ERP system. The demonstration offer a good example of how a shop-floor user using simple hand gestures could manipulate an external system or robotic arm just by pulling down menus and using underlying data to perform complicated and sometime dangerous tasks.
