After last week’s peek at the Windows 8 operating system, developers are eager to hear more about Microsoft “Jupiter” and how it relates to Silverlight. Jupiter is a user interface library for Windows that uses a XAML-based approach that will be used along with Microsoft tools.


The focus last week was largely on how Windows 8 apps will largely be creating using HTML5 and JavaScript technology. Microsoft was hesitant to mention or discuss .NET and Silverlight, prompting speculation by developers that Microsoft may be losing focus on current frameworks and programming interfaces.
