Microsoft has another spin off company, Microsoft Open Technologies, Inc a wholly owned subsidiary of Microsoft. With Jean Paoli, a veteran open source developer, at the helm, this bold move gives the new company a some serious open source cred with the community and will more then likely offer Jean Paoli the flexibility he needs to help shape Microsoft future open source policy.
