Microsoft announced in October, that these discounts would go live on November 1st and they did, right on time. In the October announcement, Microsoft officials said that these prices would “be better than Amazon’s on commodity services like compute, storage and bandwidth.” The new Server and Cloud Enrollment, or SCE, offers a subscription option for cloud services and also on-premises Microsoft software such as Windows Server, Visual Studio, and System Center. Microsoft touts that it has “the best pricing and terms” for these options, according to its November 1st volume-price list. As a further incentive, Microsoft has a fiscal 2014 jumpstart promotion for SCE which will be running from November 1st, 2013 to June 30th, 2014. During this period, Microsoft will be offering a 15 percent discount on Core Infrastructure Suite Data Center Licensing and Service Agreement in addition to Software Assurance to customers purchasing these products through Enterprise Volume Licensing.
