Microsoft announced that their improvements will focus on Office 365 business, Office 365 education and Office 365 government users of their SharePoint service. Users of this product line who have it installed locally and hosted on their own servers will not be receiving these touch improvements, at least not at this time. In addition, Microsoft will be coining a new term for these enhancements, calling them “Touch Design mobile pages” which will provide an “app-like experience” when retrieving documents and team sites using SharePoint Online.
