Although Microsoft’s C# programming language is beginning to overtake C++ in developer popularity, Java is still the number one programming language of choice with developers. C++ is still popular, however, with mobile app developers, and that fact may be holding some developers up from making the move to C#.


As Tiobe Programming’s managing director, Paul Jansen put it, “If you look at the current trends, C# will surpass C++ in the next couple of months. But there might be a chance that C++ is strong enough to stay atop of C# because it is better [suited] for mobile application development.”
