By using a little-known patent law and good ole IP, Microsoft hopes to score their latest comeback. Now that Microsoft is out of antitrust trouble, they are able to openly tie web telephony and virtualization to the operating system.
By adding virtualization to the next Windows client, along with their purchase of Skype, they are set to take on their chief rival, Google, who is still dealing with patent court issues. The use of Azure cloud as the key to the Microsoft universe puts them in a good position, as they have the infrastructure to provide telephony, games, TV, virtualization and business apps, and can sell them through yearly, and now, monthly fees.
