The Free Software Foundation wants you to have a way to avoid, what they call, The JavaScript Trap and to do so, they want JavaScript Developers to insert license tags into their JavaScript instance thus allowing web page viewers to have a way to identify JavaScript that is not free. The JavaScript License Web Labels will allow both machines and people to easily read the licensing permissions of any particular page they are on and allow them to choose, if they wish, to not visit that page any longer.
