Microsoft announced on October 22 that they will be partnering with Cloud.com to provide “integration and support” for Windows Server 2008 R2’s Hyper-V hypervisor with OpenStack. As one of the OpenStack contributors and participants, Cloud.com has an arrangement similar to other interoperability-focused partnerships Microsoft to Java, PHP and Eclipse support for Microsoft’s own Windows Azure platform where Microsoft provides engineering and other support and the partner performs all the actual code development.
