Cloud services are a hot commodity in today’s market, and are expected to bring in over $35 billion in the next five years. The combination of Box.net and Google Docs just joined in the mix as a cost-effective alternative to Microsoft Azure.

Box.net enables users to share files and collaborate using any web-connected device. They already have 6 million users, and their clients include companies such as T-Mobile and Dell. This week they announced the integration of Box.net and Google Docs.

Box.net founder and CEO Aaron Levie discussed the announcement, stating that “We think it’s going to be a pretty competitive solution to what Microsoft is rolling out–we wanted to make it so Google Docs isn’t a silo that is disconnected from your Box environment.”
