This week at GDC China, Microsoft’s Cloud Evangelist, Brian Prince, discussed the details behind Microsoft’s investment in the cloud platform for the gaming community. After investing billions in their Azure Cloud service, and grabbing some of the market share from Amazon, Microsoft has slowly worked to enhance the service for game developers.


The focus for Microsoft during this endeavor has been different, as they are not targeting their normal audience, .NET framework developers. Rather, they are enabling gamers to save game state across different platforms, so a game can be started on a PC, then moved to a mobile device, and they are able to save the state of the game at any time.
