In a very low-key signing, Apple today completed the deal to purchase PrimeSense, Ltd..  A tech company from Tel-Aviv, Israel and who is the developer of sensing type controllers and other technologies, including Microsoft’s Kinect, which allow devices to observe the physical world in 3D state, very similar to the way humans do. While the deal is being kept discreet, Apple has purchased the Xbox Kinect developer PrimeSense for a reported $350 to $360 million US. It’s not yet clear how or if this purchase by Apple will affect Microsoft’s ability to continue developing Kinect software and hardware. Stay tuned and read the full details of the acquisition here.
