News about the Windows Phone 7 Mango update has been coming from Microsoft in bits and pieces, and this week was no exception. At the Gamescom 2011 conference this week Microsoft announced that Mango will include additional Xbox Live functionality, including the ability for users to download add-on content for Live Arcade title.

A Live Arcade game called Chickens Can’t Fly will be the first game to support the new feature, and developers are likely to begin including the add-on functionality with their games immediately. Another new feature that will be included is Avatar Awardables, which allow players to unlock digital “awards” they can use with their Xbox Live Avatars.
