4chan Hackers Release a Counterfeit Skype

The web forum 4chan is known on the web for being a place to share childish and often politically incorrect images and the sort. However it’s also recently known to the NSA as the birthplace of one of the latest attempts to subvert their mass-surveillance program which was made public, by Edward Snowden when he revealed many of the details behind the agencies activities. Members of the 4chan began discussing the need for a more secure alternative to Skype considering its intended vulnerabilities to the NSA’s surveillance. Not soon after did those same people create a chatroom intended on discussing just such a project, followed by a new account on GitHub to begin uploading the code for their new solution.
