When you see SQL Server MVP Paul Nielsen switch from using SQL Server to SQL Azure mid-project, you know SQL Azure is starting to make a serious impact. As Nielsen saw it, there was a major opportunity to reduce the project’s startup and operating costs, and he wasn’t about to pass that up.


Nielsen, like many developers, was unsure about SQL Azure when it was initially announced, but recent developments have encouraged developers to make the move. As Nielsen put it, “After seeing the roadmap and some of the growth features, it made it much more feasible than when SQL Azure first came out.”
