Windows Phone 7 devices have not exactly been flying off the shelves, and Microsoft has even been reluctant to release sales statistics. Two research firms, however, believe that Windows Phone 7 devices will outnumber the iPhone by 2015.

The research firm I.H.S. iSuppli says that the new Nokia phone running Windows Phone 7, called the Lumia 900, will be the device that will trigger the “smartphone renaissance” for both Microsoft and Nokia. A senior analyst for iSuppli, Wayne Lam, stated that the Lumia 900 was showcased at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas where it was one of the hottest products. As he put it, “This hot product represents Nokia’s first step to reclaim its market share.”
