Microsoft to Purchase Yammer Social Networking for an Estimated $1.2 Billion

In a move to enter the social networking space, Microsoft has announced that they will purchase the social networking company, Yammer inc. for an estimated $1, 200,000,000.00. That’s a lot of zero’s just to add a little incentive to potential Microsoft Office users as their plan is to integrate the social business hub with a future Office suite release. In addition to the acquisition, Microsoft will also be acquiring Yammer’s other assets such as software and file sharing related tools.
