Currently, developers interested in creating and hosting apps for mobile devices have many choices, including Amazon Web Services, Windows Azure, and Google. Each offers developers a unique package of APIs, SDKs and specific functionality.

The Amazon Web Services package includes an AWS software developers kit (SDK) for both Android and iOS, each of which includes libraries, code samples and documentation. Microsoft Windows Azure also includes SDKs and APIs for iOS, Android and Windows Phone. And Google provides Android developers with access to the Google App Engine, through the use of a plugin for Eclipse.
