While the investment demonstrate Microsoft commitment to competing in the mobile market, Microsoft has a track record of not taking full advantage of their multi-billion dollar purchases and with any luck, Skype will prove to be the billion dollar advantage for Windows Phone 7 that Microsoft expects it to be.
