One approach would be to use the value returned from UIManager.getSystemLookAndFeelClassName() |

It's against all the principles of Java philosophy. If you are writing an application you would't need such information. Simply, doing like that you'll end up losing portability, and maintenance becomes a nightmare. Consider trying a different approach to your problem. Alternatively, you could use external libraries to accomplish system-specific operations (see the JNI API). |
