Converting Bug

My code (the relevant bits) looks like this:

Thats when I telnet to my application then press "ll".

Whats the wierd characters?

recv() returns an int, not a char *. Most likely, recv() is failing and you're not checking it.

In addition to what GameZelda said, your uninitialized tempBuffer (in Debug build) will contain marker bytes 0xCD, and that is how they look when output as chars.
