Exporting a subreport in XI- never works

When I create a subreport in XI and export it to excel, it always puts the subreport on a new line instead of in the details row.
I never had this problem in 8.5 and wondering if there is a fix for it.

Make sure of the following things which will cause extra rows to print when exporting to excel.

Format the subreport and uncheck the box for "Can Grow" on the common tab

Suppress the report headers and footers in the subreport

Make sure the height of the tallest object in the subreport is samller that the tallest object on the main report's detail section.

Search the Crystal Help for the phrase "Section Characteristics" to read more about how line height is controlled.
